BALTIMORE - It was de ja vu for the Baltimore Crabs Sunday as the Intimidators gashed a stout Crab run defense on the ground and came up with timely defensive plays in a 33-24 victory over Baltimore Sunday afternoon. Running back Zach Parker was simply incredible, rushing for 277 yards on 27 carries for three touchdowns. It was the third time this season Parker averaged 10 yards per carry in a game.
Orlando's defense came to play too. Cornerbacks Rodney Woods and A.J. LaCoste held Crab star receivers Nick T. Quick and Demetrious Outdat to just 10 catches on 22 targets. It was the first time this season Quick was held to a 50 percent reception-to-targets ratio. Woods finished with 5 tackles and 2 passes defended while A.J. LaCoste recorded 6 tackles and 2 passes defended.
Mike Dazzo completed a mere 54 percent of his passes on the day and threw two costly interceptions. One at the end of the first half in the red zone, with the Crabs driving to cut a 17-10 deficit and another on the final drive of the game with the team down nine and desperate. Joe Dazzo led all players in the game with 10 tackles but his linebacker teammate Henry Hittener finished with a career low 1 tackle. The Crabs lost at home in the first round last year to San Francisco by a similar score, 31-21. It was the third straight road win in an SFL semifinal matchup.
