BALTIMORE - Last year's All-Star Game MVP - Baltimore quarterback Mike Dazzo - wanted to spread the wealth. Playing for team Gray for a second-straight year, Dazzo handed the ball off to Oklahoma City running back Pete Bruschi 36 times. Bruschi took advantage, gashing team Teal for 191 yards and a touchdown in Gray's 27-10 triumph. Bruschi was named All-Star Game MVP, becoming the first player in league history to achieve a season MVP and an All-Star Game MVP award in a career.
Gray led 24-0 at the half, before Teal scored 10 straight points on their first two possessions of the third quarter - the touchdown a Minneapolis Mauler connection from Marconi to Aburatsubo. Teal failed on two critical fourth down attempts in Gray territory in the fourth quarter, however, halting what would have been the largest comeback in league history.
James Cooley helped plenty for Gray - 7 receptions, 112 yards and two scores. Mike Dazzo threw just three incompletions on a 17-of-20 afternoon for 175 yards. New York Knight free safety rookie Jesus Salvador led the game with 11 tackles for Teal. Baltimore's Joe Dazzo (Teal) had three tackles for loss and Cleveland strong safety Ahmad Arrington (Teal) created the game's only turnover - an interception.
Last season, Gray defeated Teal 29-27 in the league's 1st-ever All-Star Game, played in Kailua, HI.
