SAN ANTONIO - The Simulation Football League has awarded it's first-ever expansion franchise to the city of Baltimore and owner Tim Johnston after the league owners voted 5-1 (1 owner abstained) to accept Johnston's application.
The team will be called the Crabs and sport a navy, gold and white color scheme. Johnston is the Commissioner of the CAG NFL, an online, user v. user NFL experience in All-Pro Football 2k8.
"I have played APF2K8 since day one about 7 years ago," Johnston said. "I have always been a part of leagues that involved APF during this time. I am excited about joining the league.
"With our relationship established with Cameron, I believe there is already great synergy between SFL and CAG NFL. These are two completely different products with zero competition. We simply share a passion for simulation football and APF. I can bring some exposure to the league."
Baltimore will face the New York Knights twice per season. OKC and Dallas, Grand Rapids and Orlando and Kailua/San Francisco will be the other 2-games-per-year rivalries in the SFL moving forward.
