GRAND RAPIDS — There haven't been too many historical comebacks in SFL history. Kailua's is now cemented as the greatest. Down 20-0 in the first half, the Wyverns stormed back and answered the Rollers' touchdown in the final minute off the arm of Rocco Marconi with a touchdown pass to Yuya Aiba off the arm of Ohno Matsumoto to win 30-29, giving Grand Rapids their second consecutive 1-point loss.
The Wyverns for the second week in a row were tremendous on third down (8/12) and won the game despite only 11 first downs, five penalties and three turnovers. It was the first game-winning touchdown of Matsumoto's career. Aiba finished with 8 grabs for 145 yards and 2 touchdowns. Leeteuk Eunhyuk had a career-high 9 tackles, 5 for loss.
Once again, the Rollers dropped a game in the final minute. David Badha rushed for 160 yards and a score in the loss. Tight end Marcus Campbell was held to under 100 yards (5 rec, 61 yds) for the fourth time this year. The Wyverns have San Francisco (1-4), Dallas (0-5) and Oklahoma City (3-2) still on the schedule while the Rollers' remaining schedule includes Baltimore (5-0), New York (4-1) and Orlando (3-2).
