SAN FRANCISCO — In the 4th quarter of Monday night's tilt against Kailua, San Francisco defensive end Jordan Gray put on the most epic performance in one quarter that any player may ever have in league history. Gray had 5.5 sacks - all in the fourth quarter - as San Francisco completed a phenominal defensive outing with a 13-7 victory to improve to 2-4 and keep their playoff hopes alive.
San Francisco sacked Kailua quarterback Ohno Matsumoto eight times in total - Randall Watts, who had 3.5 sacks last week, had 1.5 sacks opposite of Gray. Matsumoto had the lowest quarterback rating of any player in league history, completing 11/25 passes for a measily 69 yards. San Francisco's average field position was their own 41, which tied the league record for best average field position in a game.
Noel Kreiss was the lone bright spot for Kailua finishing the night with a career-high 116 yards on 18 carries. He had 110 yards on two runs, which means that Kailua totalled only 75 yards on their other 49 plays and that Kreiss gained just 6 yards on his other 16 carries. Michael Urban fell short of 100 yards once again, as his solid first half slowed down to a 97-yards-on-39-carries performance.
Kailua linebackers Sebastian Brock and Justin Saunders combined for 21 tackles, 16 assisted tackles, 3 PD, 1 INT and 5 tackles for loss in defeat.
