BUFFALO — It was a bittersweet victory for Orlando, who will have to play New York again in the semi-finals in two weeks without star running back Zach Parker. At least they'll play the game at home after holding off New York in the late stages Monday night, 30-23, to clinch the No. 2 seed and home-field advantage in the semi-final round, dropping the Knights to No. 3 - their third straight loss by seven points or less, their fourth loss by seven points or less this season.
Late in the fourth quarter, Parker fractured his arm on a fall, after Marco Silva hit him hard in the open field. He'll be out 11 weeks and unavailable for Orlando's postseason run. Before getting hurt, Parker had 129 yards on 19 carries and 38 yards on 6 receptions. Despite losing Parker, having the ball seven less minutes, going 3/13 on third down and getting outgained 481-327 offensively, the Intimidators pulled it out on the road.
Kevin Walker had a 100.5 quarterback rating and went his third consecutive game without an interception. Park HeeChul was gassed by the final whistle, after carrying the offensive load (41 carries, 253 yards, 1 TD / 10 receptions for 51 yards / 51 total touches on 73 New York offensive plays). Steven Lambert tied the league record for tackles in a game with 17. The rematch is set for Saturday September 20 at noon CT from The Dome in Orlando.
