OKLAHOMA CITY — It doesn't matter whether the Baltimore Crabs are home or away. It doesn't matter the opponent. For the Baltimore Crabs, someone has always stepped up to make the big plays this season. Saturday afternoon on a rather chilly day in Oklahoma City, it was linebacker Henry Hittener.
With Oklahoma City trailing 19-13 with four minutes remaining, the Renegades recovered an onside kick. A few plays later, however, Henry Hittener stepped in front of Jasper Hart's pass into the flat and picked it off. The Crabs scored on the drive, and eventually put away the Renegades 26-20 to finish the regular season 8-0. Hittener had 12 tackles, 4 assisted tackles, 3 passes defended, 1 INT and 3 tackles for loss in the game.
Baltimore's Nick T. Quick became the first receiver this season to cross the 1,000 receiving yards milestone with 132 yards on 9 receptions in the game and a fourth quarter score. Elliott Snider and Pete Bruschi - the league's top two backs - we're expected to put on a show but instead, both running backs were held under 100 yards. Oklahoma City finishes the season 3-5 - four losses by seven points or less - and finishes with a losing record for the first time in franchise history. Baltimore will face either Grand Rapids, Kailua or San Francisco in the first round next Monday night in Baltimore.
