FRANCHISE ANNOUNCEMENTS FINALIZED

SAN ANTONIO — During halftime of the SFL Championship Game, the SFL announced three relocated franchises and one new owner who will be joining the league effective immediatly.
Thomas Paterniti was named the new owner of the Grand Rapids Rollers and has begun the process to move the team to Minneapolis to become the Maulers. A Boston Maulers played three seasons in the WAFL.
Kailua Wyverns owner Jaimie Walsh announced she'd be making a short trip to the bigger city of Honolulu and that the franchise will be called the Honolulu Legends. The WAFL hosted it's first-ever championship game in the city.
Dallas Stars owner Ronnie Nickens is moving operations back to his hometown in Cleveland after his third season in Dallas went winless. The team will be called the Cleveland Vipers. Nickens previously operated the Cleveland Stallions for two seasons in the WAFL.
"We're very pleased with all these new announcements," Commissioner Cameron Irvine said. "There were some franchises that were in need of a boost, and their owners delivered as they look for a fresh start. There's nothing but a bright future for our growing league."
The Baltimore Crabs will replace Paterniti, who has the team's head coach last year, with Benjamin Schiner as the Offensive Coordinator and Joel Lynn as Defensive Coordinator. Orlando announced that former Stirling Surge WAFL owner Sandy Campbell would become the team's defensive coordinator while Logan Foster will be in charge of coaching the defense in Honolulu. Foster previously owned the WAFL's Chicago Ghosts.
