CLEVELAND - Scott King and Freeman Goodspeed are knocking on the door of greatest wide receiver in league history. They'll get a chance to battle it out for the top spot together some more, as the two will be a part of the Cleveland Vipers after Scott King was extended and Goodspeed was franchise tagged. Both will continue at the silver level.

The Vipers also extended inside linebacker Cameron Brantley for 2 seasons worth 4.10 million and will upgrade him to a silver contract, quite possibly the team's highest-paid defender when this off-season is all said and done. King's deal was for 3 seasons totaling 6.6 million. Goodspeed's standard franchise tag contract is for 2 million.

As unsurprising as the Vipers signings were Saturday, the players not returning are equally as eye-opening. Former gold star quarterback Thomas Ranklins may see his time done with the organization after not being re-signed in the exclusive period. The Vipers also do not appear to be interested in returning defensive tackle Larry Henderson, wide receiver Cesar Cannon, tight end Asante Doleman and outside linebacker Zach Elpheage.

Cleveland has 17.5 million to spend on a gold and four bronzes. It will be interesting to see the team's direction moving forward with so many new pieces and the team's new identity about to come together.
