SAN FRANCISCO - James Cooley was a big reason why San Francisco made it to their first-ever championship game. Owner Daley Holder is looking at the bigger picture, however, and after the Bulldog offense struggled to produce consistantly, the team is going in a different direction.

The Bulldogs released quarterback Joseph Redfeather and running back Michael Urban and traded gold star receiver James Cooley after franchise tagging him, to Minneapolis for the third overall pick in this year's rookie draft, which will be held among SFL owners and coaches on Wednesday, Oct. 22.

San Francisco's defense, however, will be making a triumphant return. MVP of the Summer 14 season Randall Watts signed a 2-year, $7 million dollar extension to remain a Bulldog, officially Sunday, while the team opted into the final season for both cornerback Marcus Dorsett and strong safety Ahmad Arrington. Cornerback Andrew Ball also was extended for three seasons, totaling $8.25 million, unitng the entire stout defense from the previous effort except for veteran linebacker Gage Wilson, who enters free agency.

Tight end Xavier Brunson was also let go, returning zero offensive players from last year's unit.

With still 18.3 million left in the cap (third highest), San Francisco has plenty of money to throw to two new gold stars and a brand new offense.
