SAN ANTONIO - The league's eight teams are starting to take shape after multiple signings on Sunday helped finalize the rosters of Baltimore, Honolulu, New York and Orlando.
The Crabs spent $7.5 million to keep Eddie Gauge a Crab for three more seasons. Orlando got their quarterback - former Kailua Wyverns quarterback Ohno Matsumoto as a new era begins for the Winter 14 champs. Matsumoto's deal was for 3 years, $6 million.
New York matched Cleveland's offer to linebacker D.J. McCoo - a 2-year, $4.6 million deal and will make McCoo their second defensive star, along with strong safety Marco Silva. Cleveland signed rookie kicker Jun Kazunari, who is trying to become the second star receiver to hit the field, to a 2-year, $2 million deal. Honoulu got their man, the highest valued receiver this off-season, Yuya Aiba, and will downgrade him to a bronze in their new offense - 2 years, $3 million.
Some teams haven't been as fortunate to get players to sign on the dotted line. Oklahoma City continues to bother San Francisco this off-season, successfully countering for wide receiver Chris Taylor, who they are trying to re-sign. Cleveland, after failed attempts for Jeb Gatlin and D.J. McCoo, offered defensive lineman Cheick Kongo instead, Sunday, going in a different direction with two linebackers already signed. The Bulldogs offered tight end Xavier Brunson to return with their quarterback decision nearly finalized with former Bulldog, Jasper Hart.
