FA TRACKER: BULLDOGS NEARLY OUT OF OPTIONS, MONEY

SAN ANTONIO - San Francisco's got a problem. After another free agent decided to go with a different team this off-season, the Bulldogs are now down to only a handful of options on how to fill their 10th roster spot - which is a gold spot.
That's great news for the remaining free agents on the market, but San Francisco has only 4.1 million left in cap space. Since gold contracts are at least three years in length, the Bulldogs won't be able to pay their new gold star slot - which they've been trying to fill all off-season since trading away James Cooley - anywhere near max money.
San Francisco's money problems and off-season struggles finally caught up to them. They opted in to the second years of Marcus Dorsett and Ahmad Arrington's expensive bronze contracts, then missed a chance to counter for Joseph Redfeather sooner, lost both Redfeather and Chris Taylor to Oklahoma City (Taylor signed with OKC Wednesday for a 2-year, $2.6 million deal) and replaced one of the most well-known linebackers in sim football history - Gage Wilson - with rookie Austin Broadway earlier this off-season.
So now what are the options for the Bulldogs, who are coming off their most successful season and nearly won the SFL Championship last year? On offense, their gold star options are at fullback or tight end where they could sign "Crazy Train" David Badha or Asante Doleman, respectively. That could give the Bulldogs the first gold star backfield in league history or give their passing game a gold threat.
It would be more of a risk to go gold on defense, with the offense only having three pieces and no golds in the passing game, which would make the Bulldogs offense the worst rated in league history. But, San Francisco has a ton of options on that side of the ball. Lamar Davis (2.35 market value) at defensive tackle would make the Bulldogs defensive line downright vicious and scary. Justin Saunders (OLB, 2.45 MV) could help lead Broadway or Wilson could return and shift to outside. The team also does not have a free safety, a void former Star safety A.J. Ahanotu could fill, as could former Bulldog Stanley Parchman.
Around the rest of the league, the Taylor signing was big for Oklahoma City, who will sport more offensive players than defensive players for the first time in their history. Taylor reportadly turned down a gold deal in San Francisco to come to OKC.
"I just didn't like where the Bulldog offense was heading," Taylor said. "I played with Hart last year, I've been down that road. I'm excited that we have better pieces on offense and getting to play alongside Joseph Redfeather will be a priviledge."
Cheick Kongo was on the brink of retirement before Cleveland made their pitch to Kongo to help out the Viper defense. If All-Star Leeteuk Eunhyuk signs, it could mean a big season for Kongo, who last played as an Intimidator.
"I want to have the type of season Randall Watts had last year," Kongo said. "I've stayed in shape in my time off and I have a chip on my shoulder after getting cut before the start of last season. Watts was picked up by the Bulldogs instead of me. I can't wait to do battle with them."
