CLEVELAND - The first win for the Vipers will have to wait at least another couple of weeks after their offense struggled to produce a touchdown drive in a 13-6 loss to San Francisco Monday night at home.

Cleveland outgained the Bulldogs 351-330 but faced too much of rookie running back Keanu Tuiasosopo (30 rushes, 193 yards, 1 TD). The Vipers' Scott King came alive on the final drive of the game for Cleveland to get the Vipers in a 1st-and-goal situation with under a minute remaining, but a holding call and three straight attempts to reach the end zone without targeting King did Cleveland in. King finished with 166 yards on 7 catches. Freeman Goodspeed was held to just two grabs.

It was a night of rebounding by both defenses, but in particular San Francisco's, which was destroyed by Minneapolis in their first preseason game. The Bulldogs held Johnny English to under three yards a carry and sacked Kaleb Wright five times. Marcus Dorsett recorded seven tackles and assisted on seven more.
