OKLAHOMA CITY - The Baltimore Crabs defense came out for the second time this preseason and held an opponent to under 300 yards of offense. That was the story from Oklahoma City Saturday where Baltimore forced three turnovers in a 13-10, grind-it-out triumph on the road. Baltimore finished the preseason undefeated for the second straight season.
In both of Baltimore's preseason games, the Crabs held their opponent to 265 yards of offense and in both games combined, forced five turnovers. Kenneth Lyons had a fumble recovery and forced an interception, Henry Hittener recorded the interception and Eddie Gauge forced the fumble on Pete Bruschi. The Renegades fumbled on their first two plays of the game - on their first punt return and on Bruschi's first carry.
Bruschi, after 66 rushing yards in the first quarter, finished with 111 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries. Elliott Snider had 135 yards but neede 38 carries to get to that mark. The Renegades missed a 34-yard field goal at the end of the third quarter and Chris Taylor dropped a pass which would have placed the Renegades in field goal range inside two minutes remaining.
