OKLAHOMA CITY - Pete Bruschi can take over games like no other. He was up to his old tricks on Opening Day, exploding for 271 yards and three scores on 42 carries to lead the Renegades to a 27-17 victory over San Francisco. The Renegades 27 points were the most scored by a single team in the two teams' previous four meetings: 10-6 (OKC), 10-3 (SF), 20-13 (OKC), 16-13 (OT, OKC).
While the Bulldogs shut down their former quarterback Joseph Redfeather - who chose Oklahoma City over San Francisco in the offseason - they had no answer all day for Bruschi. The Rengades also had 10 more yards of average field position and won the turnover battle, 2-0.
Adam Stackhouse recorded 9 tackles, 3 assisted, 2 passes defended and a tackle for loss to lead the Renegade defense. It was a strong showing for rookie running back Keanu Tuiasosopo, who had 113 yards on 24 carries for a score. Ahmad Arrington had a team-high 11 tackles for the Bulldogs.
