CLEVELAND - Records were shattered Sunday in the snow in Cleveland as the Minneapolis Maulers romped to their first team victory in stunning fashion - 63-51 over the Cleveland Vipers.

Rocco Marconi set single game records for passing touchdowns (9) and passing yards (650). Ayanojyo Aburatsubo set a single game record for most receiving touchdowns (6). The Minneapolis Maulers set single game team records for points scored (63) and total offensive yards (673). If it weren't for one Marconi interception, he would have been the second quarterback in league history to record a perfect quarterback rating.

While the Maulers racked up the records, the Cleveland Vipers defensive experiment - no star players in the secondary - didn't sit well with the fans or the rest of the team. Changes are expected to come, as wide receiver Cesar Cannon - the third wide receiver on the depth chart, a bronze star, received one target and had 0 receiving yards in the game.

The Vipers offense sure did show up, making the final score closer than most of the game really was. The Vipers are the most talented offensive team on paper - 2 gold stars and 2 silver stars devoted to the offensive side of the ball. Cleveland scored 51 points - 28 in the fourth quarter - which set a franchise record. Receivers Scott King and Freeman Goodspeed both had 200-yard, 2 touchdown performances while rookie quarterback Kaleb Wright passed for over 500 yards and 5 touchdowns in his rookie debut.
