Our guest today is allenjd, a staff member of the SFL's Minneapolis Maulers and a mainstay in CAG over the last few years. AllenJD is celebrating his first clinched playoff berth and has a big night coming up in Minneapolis, when the Maulers host Orlando. Here's what he had to say on those issues, and many other topics concerning All-Pro Football 2k8.
CI: You just clinched your first playoff appearance with a 16-14 victory over the CAG Falcons. How great of a feeling is it to be accomplished in such a challenging league? AD: It feels great. I set a goal for myself to make the the playoffs, but my work is not done. I still have a desire to get my name written down on the wall of champions one day.
CI: How many seasons have you been involved with CAG? AD: I'll be entering my straight 6th season in cag nfl 38 i been playing nonstop since cag nfl 32.
CI: Why is CAG NFL so fun? AD: We are the 2k brotherhood. We're a fellowship playing the holy grail of simulation football with the most fair guys in this game. It feels great you can compete and not to worry you got cheated on.
CI: What makes it so enjoyable that you can't put it down? AD: New discoveries and customizing. People like darklord destro, king javo and tpat who do everythang to make this game feel new again.
CI: You're part of the Maulers organization, who is having a tremendous first season. This weekend, you'll be celebrating your birthday, you've got mascot night at the stadium, the Maulers are more invested in public relations than any other team and Minneapolis will be wearing "Walsh Bowl" throwbacks in the game. Do you believe that having all the hype leading up to kickoff just makes the SFL and Mauler games that much more fun and realistic? AD: Yes i do. I wanted to help the Crabs last year with a more promos type of role but i was unable to. I was a scouter last year and it wasnt my strong point. When tpat messaged me I was excited. I knew what to do. I had ideas stored in my mind. Our numbers show we have Crab numbers on viewership. Sometimes I really feel this is my real job.
CI: What is your favorite CAG NFL memory? AD: This week's game with fifty six. I knew if I would win I would be in the CAG NFL 37 playoffs. I couldnt believe the way I won - on a saftey by michael johnson with 35 seconds left. I really feel like destiny was on my side. From 1-7 to 4-4. I feel like I'm a real cinderella story for sure.
CI: The greatest quality about All-Pro Football 2k8 is...? AD: The SFL's tpat, destros and tj speaks and king javos brilliant minds bc without them there would be no CAG or APF 2k8 in 2015.
CI: Who is your favorite person to face off with in CAG? Who's your toughest opponent? AD: Fifty six, destro and king javo because me and them are very even in talent and I love close games. Also because we are close even outside of CAG. Pcat Magoo because I get taken to the woodshed and get whooped scrimmage or league game.
CI: What does it take to win a championship in CAG? How do you gameplan? AD: Rest, faith, luck and gambles ... and to not scrimmage way to much. Scrimmage but not WAY TO MUCH.
CI: What is your favorite part about the Simulation Football League?
AD: Being a part of the Maulers and you, the best announcer Mr. Cameron Irvine. CBS fire Jim Nance and Phil Sims and hire him.
Thank you sir. its been an honor.
